words comfort my soul
when all is bleary
and the world is too loud
too demanding
too much

Words heal
words come to my rescue
they leap from the pages in my book
made love to my eyes
feed the cravings in my soul
and bandage the empty spaces
left behind by friends who stopped trying
and lovers who couldn't stop lying.
